This stage consists of high-level theoretical courses required for a pilot that has PPL to operate any kind of commercial activity and work at an airline. The candidate takes the courses they have studied briefly during the PPL stage again with a detailed training of 650 hours. This training lasts approximately 7 months in a training process of 4 years. The student must %100 attend to all theoretical courses.
The student takes separate exams for 14 courses held by the General Directorate of Civil Aviation by meeting the requirements and is asked to achieve %75 success in each of them. They must complete these exams of 14 courses “within 6 rights to session and 4 rights to exam for each course.” Also, the student must enter the first exam within 12 months as from the ending of the theoretical training and finish all the exams within 18 months beginning from the date of the first exam.
All the exams passed by the student that fails to complete the exams under these conditions are canceled out and the student is required to take 14 exams again even if they have achieved success previously by taking the “Re-take Course.” “ATP credit” inscription is added to the license of the candidate who passes all 14 exams. If the candidate who passes ATPL exams does not obtain CPL (A) license within 24 months their exams are considered as invalid.
