The students of the Pilotage Department within the KTO Karatay University Applied Sciences Academy prepare in full for “ATPL (A) Pilot License” that will be given by the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure Directorate General of Civil Aviation during their applied undergraduate education that will continue for four years.
During this process, our students will fulfill their theoretical training consisting of 14 fundamental courses as well as glider flight on the training runaway of our university, obtain the glider license (SPL) in question, and then complete their flight trainings with training planes.
The vision of our department is to be one of the leading institutions at national and international levels by following the requirements of the era in pilotage training and showing progress, and our mission is to train pilots that have high-level information on pilotage and will play a role in the innovations that will add value to our country in the aviation field for the future.
Education and training will be given in two stages in the pilotage department. During the first stage, basic sciences, basic aviation and flight information, and legal knowledge on flights are given. And at the end of the fundamental education, glider and plane use, lessons for flight under normal conditions and flight in case of danger will be provided with applied training and training that prepares for flight under any conditions will be practiced.
The students that have completed their Pilot Training Undergraduate Diploma (4 years), ATP(A) - Frozen level theoretical courses start flight training. The students that have completed their applied flight trainings are granted to receive the ATLP license at the end of the exams made by the General Directorate of Civil Aviation with success. Also, students that have completed their glider flights successfully will be given Glider License (SPL). In addition to these, the students who wish can participate in Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, and International Trade and Logistics departments and graduate with a dual degree.
Student Registration and Admission Conditions
Student admission to KTO Karatay University Pilotage Department is processed according to the results of the Selection and Placement Exam held by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) and other arrangements determined by the Council of Higher Education.
The candidate that is entitled to be a student in the pilotage department applies in person or by an attorney to the KTO Karatay University Student Affairs Management within the specified period for final registration.
Except this, admission of the students from abroad or foreign students is carried out according to the KTO Karatay University Regulation of Student Admission from Abroad.

In addition to this, Pilotage Department students must bring their criminal record (archive registered) and first-class health report as required by the regulation of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation (SHGM) during the enrollment. Graduation Conditions
Students must pass all the courses in the undergraduate program and must not have a score such as FF, FG, I, U, Y, or P. In the program, they need to complete at least 240 ECTS credited courses with success and a grade point average should be at least 2.00.

Recognition of the Previous Education
Students that have made final registration to the other Higher Education University at which they previously studied either inland or abroad will be assessed by the education unit management council about their credit and grade transfer demands if they apply within the first week and a decision will be made so as to include their entire training and for one time only.
